Merry Christmas Clayton

December 2010

Here are some of the things we have been doing to enjoy the Christmas Season:

Grammy Jackson gave this to us a couple of years ago. Our elf is named "Fred". This is one of our favorite Christmas traditions.

See the Lights:

Christmas Dinner at our church: Marshall got to sing with the other Primary children ages (4-11). As you can see, he's a lot like his dad and likes to sing! When you press play (below), he is the one that you can hear loudly. Corbett also sang some harmony in a couple of songs, it sounded great.

Christmas Devotional: We were able to hear Inspiring Chrtismas messages from the Prophet of the world and hear beautiful music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Smell the season: I love to make my own popuri to fill my house with the scent of the season. One year my friend Kara Mortensen gave me a cute bag of this for Christmas; I've done it each year since.

1 Sliced lemon or orange, 1/2 t. Cloves, 1/2 t. Nutmeg, 1 Cinnimon Stick, 2 C. Water
Bring to a boil, then simmer on low. Be sure to add water when it gets low.

Baking/Cooking:

Made candied Apples. I've never done this before, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Yes, total desaster, burned the candy, but Marshall and I still had fun. I call my cooking ability "Babe Ruth Baking" I strike out a lot, but hit lots of home runs.... and this is what gives me the hope to keep on trying" I hope that I will be a more consistant batter (baker) in the future.

Gingerbread houses out of grahmcrackers with our friend Chelsea.

Marshall mostly loaded candy on a plate and called it "good".

Yosemite National Park with the Record's

The Windy City!

We went to Nicole and David's wedding in Chicago. Cameron watched the kids. It was fun to get away for a couple of days.

Water Park

Here are some pictures from the summer taken by Kristen.

Daddy

In having all boys in my house I am reminded that gender is such a part of life. My boys are all boy: cars, trucks, airplanes, dirt, food and wrestling. Corbett is such a great dad to them!

Six Flags

Usually Marshall is scared of the guys in costume... but not this time.

Marshall made a lot of progress. We also enjoyed a visit from Nathan and Lys-An. Katie and Clay had fun in the water.

Every Monday night our family has "Family Home Evening" Its a time for our family to be together. Our friends, the Gibsons, invited us to their home for FHE. As you can see, we had a blast!

Yes I am happily married to Corbett, and no, Corbett didn't have a face lift... this guy in the green shirt is
Corbett's brother Cameron. He is living with us for the summer. Its been so fun having him.

Becoming Provident Providers

I love the wisdom of this message. It seems like common sense, but apparently isn't in our society.

Life of a boy

Do you need any yard work done? We are all about child labor in our house!

Future BYU-Idaho grads like mom and dad. Thanks uncle Cameron.

Our kids love our laundry basket...a.k.a. "The train"

Chocolate ice cream. Tillamook Ice cream is all that is served in our home- go Oregon!

To our friends: you know who you are...

Thank you-

Christmas in Oregon

Marshall is a big fan of bowling. We went with Uncle Cameron, girlfriend, Kristen and the Jacksons. Cameron and Kristen are now engaged as of February!

It snowed! Marshall had such a good time playing with Bentley, Corbett's cousin. Marshall calls Corbett's cousins his cousins. He loves all the attention from older kids. Isn't it great that Grandpa Jackson put this helmet on Marshall, he needed it as he slipped around. What a great grandpa!

Clay decided to eat the cookies that Santa didn't finish eating on Christmas morning. There is nothing quite like a cookie for breakfast.
